Final Exam, Part 2
My first example for my newfound media literacy is the skill I have learned in Adobe Illustrator and Flash. I feel like these skills can give me an edge in the workplace because it seems as though more industries are working with these types of products, especially within my major of communications. Not only are they enjoyable to use, but they provide a more appealing way of getting your own ideas out into the world.
My next example is the fact that we discuss what is going on in the media each day at the start of class. With my newfound media literacy, I’m actually interested in the news and I feel smarter when I get asked what’s going on in the world and I know the answer. After taking this course and utilizing the skills and new perspectives I have developed, I can give my own valid opinions on the media.
My last example is that I can now appreciate the media as a form of artwork. It’s a type of expression that people in the field of communications use to get their ideas out into the world and share with the rest of society. Media literacy has opened my eyes to things I would have never seen or thought of looking for. I have much more respect for the media and I have to look deep into everything presented before me.
