Your Divided Attention

In our world, we see all the obvious objects around us, but we have to look deeper to notice everything. Ambient media art opens our eyes wider than normal. Without it, we would not make any progress in life. It connects us with one another.

The media is out of control. In this day and age, you can’t even count how many news outlets there are. The problem with the media today is that they are more focused on entertaining us rather than informing us.

We choose what we want to hear. The media is making us all believe the same thing and there are limiting perspectives which eliminates opinion and controversy.

Neural Darwinism is an interesting theory. Through natural selection we can explain intelligence and consciousness. The media is killing our senses and making us blind to our own intelligence. We should know better, but we can’t help it because this way of thinking is everywhere. We don’t think as hard about a subject as we used to and as we should.

The spectacle is totally true because as I am writing this response, I understand what is going on around me, and yet I conform to the norm and look at the media the same way everyone else does. We can’t help to think the way we do. And based on this way of thinking, it will only progress in the future.
